The tower is too tall now,
it wobbles and twists
with each breath.

It's only a matter of time now.

So a day that started,
24 hour cycle,
a copy that is exactly like the last.
Black and White,
the colors are but memories.

Epihphany,
something breaks through.
Your red hair a flame
that burns the shadows away.

And sitting on the ground in Brazil,
Everything finally lifts,
as I cry it all onto your shoulder.
The bloody tears confirm,
The tower has fallen.

Suddenly the warmth hits me,
and the cold is stolen away.
With your body pressed against mine,
I can't be cold anymore.

And all the color comes streaming back,
my eyes burn as
the retinas go back to work.
Then, although it hurts to even think it,
I smile.

Now it has all fallen.
And I can rebuild.

its impossible to overlook the similarities between this series of poems and The Wall. While the ending is seemingly happy, we all know that the construction of another tower is inevitable. (The Wall gets torn down, but he's going to build another, or someone else will) I guess the key is to let the tower be torn down before it gets too tall, which is much more difficult than one might think.

hmmm... this is terribly true, although i really wish i had noticed this sort of thing before i had written them. Damn my lack of creativity! :shakefist:
Actually the reason for the tower reference is the fact that during this hard time in my life, I was watching two friends play a game of Uno Tower (similar to Jenga). I keep saying "its going to fall. the only question is who is going to take out the last block."
Honestly I think that the tower part is a bit weak. I think Part 3 is the keeper here.

Ahhh... release. I was tense while reading this series! I was hoping (is it a girl thing?) for at least a "mildly" happy ending... and i got one! Even your conclusion to this piece "feels" warm. It actually made me recall a bunch of times when I too overcame some depressing moments in my life. It brought those feelings back.

It was kind of a girl thing. It's far too complicated to explain here. However, I'm glad that you liked it. In a way, I enjoyed the harsh feelings I was having. In the back of my mind, a voice told me: "Write this stuff down, its great!"
